A word about the Hypnotic Process
During the process of hypnosis your mind will be active the entire time. You will hear what is being said and you will remember as much as you would from any normal conversation.
Rather than being a loss of control, hypnosis is a process of learning how to have better control of the subconscious portion of your mind. And in turn, allowing you take back control of those areas of your life that may at one time, seemed beyond your control. We will do this by working with your thoughts, patterns and behaviors.
Some people are curious about what the experience of hypnosis “feels” like. Well, you may feel a heavy, relaxed, and sinking sensation. Or, you might discover this light and floating feeling. Or, you may feel the sensation of simply sitting there listening to my voice. The reality is, there is not a specific “hypnotized” feeling. Whatever you experience, is the exact right feeling for you. The sensation of what hypnosis feels like can be as unique and diverse as the individual who experiences it.
There may be some moments where you find yourself listening intently to every word I say, and, at other times, you may find your mind wandering to other things. Go ahead and let it wander. That is something our minds naturally do from time to time anyway. In the process of hypnosis, this can actually be helpful. With the conscious mind wandering off to something else, the subconscious mind can take in suggestions even deeper.
Also, if at anytime during the process you the feel the need to move, adjust, or scratch, by all means just go ahead and do so, it will just help you to relax and go even deeper into hypnosis.
